Deputy does final security sweep of Safeco Field
King County Deputy Tim Morgan, who has conducted routine security sweeps of Safeco Field before games for the past six years, is retiring August 31, after a 27-year law enforcement career. He and Seattle Police Officer Craig Williamson, both Explosives Detection Canine Officers, will together conduct one final inspection of the ballpark with their dogs Steve and Dennis before the game on Friday, August 31. Morgan and Steve will throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game, which Officer Williamson and Dennis will catch.
In addition to their work in Seattle and King County, Morgan and Williamson also provide support for special events around the country. Most recently, they and their dogs were assigned to a two week detail by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field trials in Eugene, OR. Steve, Deputy Morgan's K-9 partner, will retire with him at the end of the week.
