• Yankees right-hander Rafael Soriano reported no issues after being struck on the right hand by a line drive in the ninth inning of Sunday's 4-2 win over the Indians. Girardi said that he shook Soriano's hand just to make sure.

• Japan's Little League World Series-winning club celebrated their victory with a trip to Yankee Stadium on Monday. The team, which defeated Tennessee, 12-2, in Sunday's final, watched batting practice in front of the Yankees' dugout.

• The Yankees welcomed Olympic Gold Medalists Christie Rampone, the captain of the 2012 U.S. Women's National Soccer Team, and Sarah Hughes (2002 Figure Skating), to throw ceremonial first pitches on Monday. Former WNBA New York Liberty star Kym Hampton was invited to sing the national anthem.
