OAKLAND -- A's rookie A.J. Griffin threw his second bullpen session Sunday and could be heading out on a rehab assignment in a few days.
"If he came out of it OK we'll get him out on a rehab in five days or so," A's manager Bob Melvin said.
Griffin came out of the game early on Aug. 4 against the Blue Jays with right shoulder tightness. He's eligible to come off the disabled list.
Melvin said the team will also have to make a decision on left-hander Brett Anderson, whose rehab assignment comes to an end Monday.
"We haven't completely figured out that situation," Melvin said. "We'll have to make a decision today."
