The Marlins' prospect hit .545 (12-22) last week with one home run and 10 RBI. The lefty hit for the cycle last Thursday. He currently ranks second in the league in hitting (.453) and fourth in slugging percentage (.774). The 21-year-old Kansas City, Missouri native spent his 2008 season at Class a Advanced Jupiter in the Florida State League, hitting .332 with 13 homers and 74 RBIs. He was the Florida State League most valuable player.
In his three Minor League seasons, he owns a .292 composite batting average with 39 home runs and 178 RBI in 307 games. Morrison was a 22nd-round (666th overall) selection in the 2005 draft.
Eric Young Jr., Phoenix Desert Dogs

The son of former Major Leaguer and current ESPN baseball studio analyst Eric Young hit two grand slams, the first an inside-the-parker, and extended his league-leading hitting streak to 17 games.
For the week, the 23-year-old native of Piscataway, N.J. hit .440 (11-25) with eight RBIs. Young currently leads the Fall League in stolen bases (14), hits (31), and runs (28). He ranks fifth in hitting (.431).
He's he's batting .469 during his hitting streak. He spent 2008 at Double-A Tulsa, hitting .290 with 46 stolen bases. In five Minor League seasons, he has hit .292 and swiped 245 bases. Desert Dogs catcher Michael McKenry (COL) also received consideration for his three-homer game last week.
Pitcher of the Week
Jeff Manship, Phoenix Desert Dogs
2-0, 3.60 ERA, 10 IP, 4 ER, 10 H, 2 BB, 10 K
The 6-foot, 165-pound Texan won both his starts last week, allowing only four earned runs in 10 innings with 10 strikeouts and two walks.
Overall, Manship is 2-1 with a 5.14 earned-run average. He has hurled 21 innings and owns 17 strikeouts against four walks. The 23-year-old San Antonio, T.X. native split his 2008 season between Class A Advanced Fort Myers (7-3, 2.86 ERA in 13 games) and Double-A New Britain (3-6, 4.46 ERA, 14 games).
In three seasons, Manship owns a 25-15 composite record and 2.91 ERA in 59 appearances (56 starts) with 283 strikeouts in 318.2 innings. A college teammate of Chicago Cubs reliever Jeff Samardjiza at Notre Dame, Manship was drafted by the Twins in the 14th round (426th overall) in 2006.
