Fans urged to use public transportation

PHILADELPHIA -- Fans planning to see the Phillies, Flyers and Eagles in South Philly this weekend are being urged by the Phillies to take public transportation to the games because of high traffic expected Saturday and Sunday.

The Flyers will face the New Jersey Devils at the Wachovia Center on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET, followed by Game 3 of the World Series between the Phillies and the Rays at 8 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park. To top it all off, there will be a Celtic Thunder Show starting at the same time across the street at the Wachovia Spectrum.

It doesn't get any easier on Sunday.

The Eagles are taking on the Falcons at Lincoln Financial Field at 1 p.m. The Who will be performing at the Wachovia Center starting at 7:30 p.m., and Game 4 of the World Series is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

To accommodate fans planning to take public transportation to these events, parking fees in Center City will be reduced on Saturday and Sunday. The Phillies are also encouraging fans to carpool to the games.

SEPTA will be providing additional service throughout the weekend.
