Sometime the next day, after Bradford stopped celebrating his team's advancing to the World Series, he responded to Philadelphia's Scott Eyre. Without getting specific, Bradford referred to his friend and former teammate as the opposite of slim."All part of the fun," Eyre said. "Obviously, we want to win, but I'm hoping he does well." Eyre and Bradford played together with the White Sox from 1998-2000 and have kept in touch over the years, following each other's progress. Eyre, one of game's more social people, also keeps up with Tampa Bay designated hitter Cliff Floyd, whom he played with on the Cubs. Both men have been rooting to face each other in the World Series and took note of the irony that their former team from the North Side didn't advance to a World Series. May the best team win? "As long as it's us, sure," Eyre said.
