Performers set for first two WS games

PHILADELPHIA -- Multi-platinum pop group Backstreet Boys will sing the national anthem before Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Major League Baseball announced Tuesday.

The national anthem before Game 2 between the Phillies and Rays -- Thursday night at Tropicana Field -- will be sung by Los Lonely Boys, a rock n' roll group consisting of three brothers from San Angelo, Texas.

Military personnel from the Tampa Bay area are scheduled to perform "God Bless America" in the seventh inning of both games.

The World Series will be televised nationally by FOX and around the world by Major League Baseball International.
