ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays have announced who will throw out the first pitch for Games 1 and 2 of the American League Championship Series, as well as the artists who will perform at Game 1.
Eleven original season-ticket holders have been invited to throw out the first pitch prior to Game 1. They are: Jack Critchfield, Clearwater, Fla.; Bette Ra Ivey, Largo, Fla.; David Parry, Brandon, Fla.; Dr. Pedro Morales, St. Petersburg; Mark Donohue, St. Petersburg; Gene Oliver, St. Petersburg; Russ Cosser, Treasure Island, Fla.; Beth Di Roma, Largo, Fla.; Jeff Albrecht, Sarasota, Fla.; Pedro Bajo, Tampa, Fla.; and John Shoppell, St. Petersburg Beach, Fla..
ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale, who is a Sarasota, Fla., resident, will throw out the first pitch for Game 2. Vitale, who was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in September, is a longtime Rays season-ticket holder.
Saxophonist B.K. Jackson will perform the national anthem prior to Game 1 and "American Idol" star David Archuleta will sing "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch of Game 1 at Tropicana Field.
