Blue Jays recall Sierra

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled OF Moises Sierra from Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (Triple-A) and have optioned LHP Evan Crawford and RHP Joel Carreno to Las Vegas.

Sierra, 23, has appeared in 100 games for Las Vegas this season posting a .289 average with a team leading 17 home runs and 63 RBI. The Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic native is in his 7th professional season after making his debut in the Dominican Summer League as a 17 year old.

Crawford, 25, appeared in 10 games with Toronto this season going 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA. The Prattville, Alabama native has posted a 1-3 record with a 4.61 ERA in 25 minor league games for New Hampshire (AA) and Las Vegas.

Carreno, 25, is 0-2 with a 6.35 ERA in seven games, including two starts for the Blue Jays this season. The San Cristobal, Dominican Republic native is a combined 3-9 with a 6.81 ERA in 17 games, including 15 starts for New Hampshire and Las Vegas in 2012.
