With Wednesday's 4-1 win in Game 1 of the American League Division Series, the Red Sox tied a postseason record by winning their 10th consecutive playoff game against the Angels.

But Boston is also on the other end of the record, having lost 10 straight postseason games to the A's from 1988-2003.

The Red Sox started their current 10-game win streak in 1986, when the Angels were one strike away from winning the AL pennant before Dave Henderson's homer rallied the Sox in Game 5. The Red Sox won the game, and the next two.

Two years later, the Red Sox began a 10-game skid against the A's when they were swept in the ALCS. The Red Sox were again swept in 1990 and lost the first two games of the 2003 ALDS before winning three straight to win the series.
