Right-hander Brandon Morrow was scheduled to throw two innings for Class-A Dunedin on Sunday in his first rehab start since suffering a strained left oblique muscle on June 12.
Morrow is expected to make a total of two starts for Dunedin before pitching an additional two games with Double-A New Hampshire. The goal by the end of the four outings is to have Morrow up to 85 pitches and ready for a possible return to the Blue Jays.
Right fielder Jose Bautista was scheduled to swing a regular bat on Sunday for the first time since being placed on the 15-day disabled list earlier this month with a sprained left wrist.
Bautista took swings with a fungo bat on Saturday and followed that up by taking dry swings with a regular bat. It still appears unlikely that he will be ready to return by the time he is eligible to come off the DL on Aug. 1.
