"Brewers Mini-Marathon" Registration Deadline Approaching

The inaugural "Brewers Mini-Marathon" is fast approaching - scheduled for Saturday, September 22 - and registration numbers have been very solid with over 3,500 running enthusiasts already registered for the race. Sendik's Food Markets will serve as the presenting sponsor.

Participants interested in running in the mini-marathon can register for the race at www.brewersmini.com. The cost of the race is $75 for those registering by Tuesday, July 31 and $85 for those registering between August 1 and September 19. Race packets can be picked up at Miller Park on Friday, September 21. For those registering on packet pick-up day, the cost is $100.

"Since 1926, Sendik's Food Markets have been providing the community with only the best, freshest products with a strong emphasis on family and this opportunity to partner with the Brewers for the Mini Marathon is yet another way for us to share in the passion and excitement that we have for families in our community," said Ted Balistreri, Co-Owner of Sendik's Food Markets. "We are proud to partner with the Brewers and we are truly honored to continue our charitable efforts with the MACC Fund."

The scenic and unique course will begin at beautiful Miller Park at 7 a.m. and will take participants past many Milwaukee landmarks including the Miller Valley, the Harley-Davidson Museum, Mitchell Park Conservatory (The Domes), and others. Prizes and a post-race tailgate party are also included. Additionally, the race also offers an opportunity to raise money for the MACC Fund, benefitting childhood cancer research in Wisconsin.

Participants will receive a free Brewers ticket voucher good for 2013 games at Miller Park, a participant medal, a "tech" shirt and a post-race tailgate party outside Miller Park with live music. Opportunities still exist for volunteers and on-course entertainment, who will also receive a ticket voucher.

Great course support will be provided with ten aid stations featuring water and Gatorade, misting stations, and entertainment along the way. Spectators will have plenty of free parking at Miller Park and will have the opportunity to watch racers run through Miller Park while being shown on the scoreboard.

Fundraising proceeds from the Brewers Mini-Marathon will benefit the MACC Fund. Participants can organize their own fundraising page online at www.brewersmini.com and donors can make donations online. A complete list of fundraising prizes can be found at www.brewersmini.com and include:
