Marlins Take On The Braves, Padres at Marlins Park

MIAMI –The Miami Marlins are ready to take on the Atlanta Braves (July 23-25) and the San Diego Padres (July 27-29) at Marlins Park. The six-game homestand will feature two fan giveaways (The first 25,000 kids will receive a Marlins Kids Silicone Sports Watch presented by Ford on July 25, first 5,000 kids will receive a Kids Swimming Tube presented by Sir Pizza on July 29), a Friday Night post-game party on the West Plaza, featuring live music from The Jacob Jeffries Band, presented by Heineken Light, Saturday Spectacular featuring Venezuelan Heritage Night and a post-game fireworks show presented by the 50 MPG Toyota Prius, and special promotions including the Marlins All You Can Eat Special for just $24 on July 23, the Marlins 4-for-$54 offer on July 24 and the all new Marlins Pizza 4-Pack on July 27.

Starting Monday, July 23, the Marlins will take on the Braves. First pitch is set for 7:10 P.M. at Marlins Park. Military personnel with I.D. can claim their free tickets in honor of Military Mondays sponsored by Outback Steakhouse. Also, fans can get the Marlins All You Can Eat Special for just $24; includes a Vista Level ticket and all you can eat hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn, nachos, sodas and water. All You Can Eat seats in the Legends Level are also available for $34 each.

The series continues on Tuesday, July 24 at 7:10 P.M. Fans can purchase the 4 for $54 Pack, which includes 4 Vista Reserved Tickets, 4 Hot Dogs, 4 Sodas and 4 Bags of Chips for $54. The 4 for $64 is also available, which includes a seating upgrade to Legends Silver. Special is available on every Tuesday home game, online and at the box office, and can be sold as a group for the same price. Food, soda and chips vouchers are redeemable at all concession stands. The series finale is on Wednesday, July 25 at 12:40 P.M. and in honor of Marlins Summer Camp Day, the first 25,000 kids will receive a Marlins Kids Silicone Sports Watch presented by Ford. After an off day, the Marlins will host the San Diego Padres for a three game series. First pitch on Friday, July 27 is set for 7:10 P.M. Fans can pick up the new Marlins Pizza 4-Pack, including four tickets, 4 Sir Pizzas and 4 Pepsi soft drinks for $79. The offer is available at the Marlins Park box office.  Fans are also encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the pre-game party on the West Plaza, plus fans can enjoy a public autograph session with a Marlins player from 6 P.M. to 6:20 P.M. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game and enjoy a post-game party on the West Plaza, featuring live music from The Jacob Jeffries Band, presented by Heineken Light. The party will be hosted by DJ Petey. The three-game series continues on Saturday, July 28 at 7:10 P.M. with a post-game fireworks show, followed by a concert on the West Plaza. This Saturday will feature pre-game entertainment on the West Plaza from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. and an autograph session with a Marlins player on the Promenade Level from 6:00 to 6:20 P.M. Saturday will also feature Venezuelan Heritage Night presented by the 50 MPG Toyota Prius.  On Family Sunday, July 29 the first 5,000 kids get a Billy The Marlin Swimming Tube courtesy of Sir Pizza.  Pre-game fun will feature entertainment with Radio Disney AM 990, DJ Petey and the Energy Team. Also, as part of Snapshot Sunday fans can take photos with a Marlins player on the Promenade level from 12 P.M. to 12:20 P.M. Post-game entertainment will include Diamond Dash where all kids can run the bases after the game.

RICHARD ALLEN CHECK PRESENTATION: Alfredo Mesa, Executive Director of the Marlins Foundation, will present a check to The Richard Allen Leadership Academy.

The mission of the Richard Allen Leadership Academy, Florida's first "All Boys" public elementary charter school, is to create an environment in which young men can be developed into exceptional students, positive role models, and community leaders and to provide an innovative, enriching and individualized science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) educational program that will stimulate and accelerate learning and achievement in a safe and nurturing environment. MIAMI MARLINS YOUTH BASEBALL CLINICS PRESENTED BY CHEVY: The Marlins are partnering with Chevy in hosting South Florida’s youth for an on-field baseball clinic. There will be two clinics each day featuring 2 Marlins players and a member of our coaching staff to serve as instructors for the clinics. GIRL SCOUTS 100TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: Over 500 Girl Scouts, family and friends from South Florida will be in attendance celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Girl Scouts.  Girl Scouts representing Troops #301, 402, 438 & 1021 will be performing the National Anthem and the Color Guard.

SOLDIER OF THE GAME: As part of Military Mondays the Miami Marlins will honor a current armed forces member prior to the game. They will have a private meet and greet with Marlins players.

NEW CONCESSION, PANNA EXPRESS, TO DEBUT IN MARLINS PARK: Starting July 23 the Marlins will debut a new concession with culinary concepts never before seen at Marlins Park. The new concession, Panna Express, will offer products such as the succulent Venezuelan cachito, tequeño, arepa and more. Panna Express Café began twelve years ago in a gas station in Weston, when a brother and sister tried to introduce some Latin flavors to the new city. The concept began as a coffee shop and bakery, and is called Panna, with a name that translates as "cream" in Italian. However, it soon became known as "Pana", which Venezuelans use as a term for "friend". Shortly after, products such as the Venezuelan, "Cachito" and "Tequeño" were introduced and became very popular. Other Latin American products include the popular Colombian "Pan de bono" and Venezuelan, Colombian and Argentinian empanadas with a variety of fillings. Panna Express Café is located in the Taste of Miami area in the Promenade Level at Marlins Park and will be open during all Marlins home games.

FRAGILE X SYNDROME AWARENESS NIGHT: The National Fragile X Foundation has teamed up with the Marlins to host an Awarness Night at Marlins Park.  Over 500 family members, doctors, and others associated with Fragile X are in Miami as part of the Foundation’s National Conference. 

There is a pregame social function in the 3rd base Lexus Legends Level.  In addition, volunteers from the South Florida Chapter will be recognized on the field and a representative will be throwing out the first pitch.

Fragile X is a genetic condition that causes intellectual disabilities and has ties to autism. The National Fragile X Foundation is a leading source of information and support for families in Florida and elsewhere who are affected by Fragile X. MARLINS WIVES TACKLE BOX AUCTION: The Marlins Wives Tackle Box Auction, which is the largest fundraising event of the year for the Wives Fund, is to take place on Saturday, July 28th 2012.  The auction will feature various autographs and game-used items from the Marlins and others in Major League Baseball as well as other unique experiences including playing catch, receiving hitting lessons and pitching lessons from your favorite Marlins players.

 

This year’s Marlins Tackle Box Auction raises money to benefit the Shake-A-Leg Miami. Shake-A-Leg Miami is a premiere Community boating Center located in Coconut Grove that serves as the gateway to Biscayne Bay for people of all abilities. The Shake Mission is to use the marine environment to improve the, health, education and independence of all people with a focus on those living with physical, emotional and mental disabilities. UMPS CARE: The Marlins partner with Major League Baseball umpires to offer memorable baseball game experiences for children awaiting adoption and for at-risk youth in mentoring programs. FLORIDA YOUNG SCHOLARS NIGHT: As part of a two day celebration of this year’s Florida Young Scholars, the Marlins will be honoring this year’s award winners with a pregame ceremony.

Florida’s Young Scholars is an organization that honors young men and women in 3rd through 8th grade, in their pursuit of excellence.    It honors students who excel in the classroom, in the community, as leaders in extra-curricular activities, church, or other interests as well as on the athletic fields and courts. 

Florida’s Young Scholars mission statement notes that it seeks to reward the contributions and efforts of young people in their pursuit for knowledge and a better world.  Through honoring today’s outstanding youth, Florida’s Young Scholars hopes to empower students to make a difference in our society and inspire them to achieve.

CAMERAS FOR KIDS FOUNDATION: Cameras For Kids Foundation will be bringing 12 foster care kids to serve as guest photographers during pre-game batting practice.

Cameras For Kids Foundation is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the abandoned children by exposing the teens to the process of creating art through a camera's lens. CFKF uses photography to capture participants’ imaginations, to empower them, build confidence, self-esteem and open a whole new world for them to visualize and create.

VENEZUELAN HERITAGE NIGHT SPONSORED BY THE 50 MPG TOYOTA PRIUS : Fans can enjoy Venezuelan Heritage Night presented by the 50 MPG Toyota Prius, which will pay homage to Venezuelan culture, heritage and music throughout the game, including pregame ceremonies, Venezuelan flags being available for a limited number of fans at Fan Headquarters, and musical hits from Venezuelan artists will be played on Marlins Vision throughout the game. WORLD BASEBALL FEDERATION YOUTH BASEBALL TOURNAMENT OPENING CEREMONY: The World Baseball Federation Youth Baseball Tournament is hosting its Opening Ceremonies before the game.  Over 1,000 players and coaches from youth teams from all over the world will take place in a parade around the warning track.

BARK AT THE PARK BENEFITTING THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF BROWARD COUNTY: The second Bark of the Park at Marlins Park will benefit the Humane Society of Broward County.  This special event hosted by the Humane Society and the Marlins will take place in the 1st base Vista Level seating area.  Tickets must be purchased in advance and online exclusively at marlins.com/bark.  It is $15 for humans and $10 for dogs.  100% of the proceeds from the dog tickets will go back to the Humane Society.

Fans are encouraged to submit online photos of their dogs dressed in Marlins gear.  Photos will be displayed on the Marlins Vision board outside on the West Plaza.

MARLINS RADIO NETWORK: All 162 regular season games will be broadcast on 790 The Ticket and the Marlins Radio Network in English and on WAQI 710 AM in Spanish. The Marlins Radio Network consists of: WSWN 900 AM in Belle Glade, WELE 1380 AM in Daytona Beach, WEFL 760 AM in West Palm Beach, WFFG 1300 AM in Marathon, WKWF 1600 AM in Key West, WSTU 1450 AM in Stuart, WWCN 770 AM Fort Myers/Naples.

CELEBRATION CLUB: Marlins fans can display a personalized message on Marlins Vision for the home crowd to see for a donation to the Marlins Foundation. Personalized messages will be shown at the end of the 2nd inning of every Marlins home game.  Messages will run for the first 12 people who call the Marlins office to make a reservation or sign up at www.marlins.com/celebrationclub.  The cost is $75.00 per message, with all proceeds benefiting the Marlins Foundation. 

CHEVRON TICKET WEDNESDAYS: Receive 50% off select Marlins tickets when you fill up 8 gallons or more of gas at participating Chevron stations.  Just go inside at participating stations and claim you discount voucher, or save your gasoline receipt and bring it to the Marlins box office.  Tickets subject to availability, cannot be combined with other offers.

MASTERCARD STAND UP TO CANCER (SU2C): From July 13to August 31, all concession stands that accept credit cards will encourage fans to use their MasterCard to make a purchase and in turn MasterCard will make a donation to the su2c foundation.
