White Sox announce upcoming series activities

WHAT:           Chicago White Sox promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for this week’s series vs. Minnesota.  Tickets are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and all Ticketmaster locations.

The game on Monday will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus, while WCIU-TV will broadcast the game on Tuesday.  Wednesday’s game will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago.  All three games will air on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.

Ceremonial first pitch by Illinois Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke

Illinois Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke, Chicago native who helped establish the Special Olympics 44 years ago, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

John Vincent from Chicago will perform the National Anthem.

In honor of House Music Night, a variety of DJs will be playing before and after the game – celebrating the vintage dance music created in Chicago in the 1980s.

From 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., there will be live music outside Gate 4 (DJ Nurotic, three-time Midwest DJ of the Year nominee and one-time winner who mixes for 103.5 Kiss FM and Hot 96 on weekend nights), Gate 5 (DJ Danny G, Chicago native with eight years experience) and Bacardi at the Park (Madjazz).  Miller Lite Bullpen Sports Bar will host DJ-X before the game and DJ Nick Nino for an hour after the game.

Ceremonial first pitch by Tim Thornton

Tim Thornton, one of Arlington Park’s top jockeys and host of “Behind the Silks with Tim Thornton,” a season-long series of videos chronicling his professional and personal life, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Tasia Malliaras will perform the National Anthem in celebration of Greek Heritage Night.

To celebrate Greek Heritage Night, there will be performances from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. outside Gate 3 (DJ Yianni, owner of Greektown Music), Gate 4 (Panopoulos Orchestra) and Gate 5 (Orpheus Hellenic Folklore Society, who also will dance on-field behind home plate before the game).  Fans can buy Greek flags at the Greek Heritage Night Party Shop, located near the Gate 4 stage until the start of the game and in section 159 through the third inning.

Wednesday, July 25, 1:10 p.m. vs. Minnesota

Jen Porter from Chicago will perform the National Anthem.
