Crain Reinstated from Disabled List; Omogrosso Optioned

DETROIT – Prior to this afternoon’s game at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Brian Omogrosso to Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated right-handed pitcher Jesse Crain from the disabled list.

Crain, 31, has been on the disabled list since July 4 (retroactive to June 24) with a right posterior shoulder strain.

Crain is 2-1 with a 2.38 ERA (6 ER/22.2 IP), five holds and 28 strikeouts in 24 games with the White Sox this season.  He also was on the disabled list from April 27-May 14 with a strained right oblique.

Omogrosso, 27, was 0-0 with a 4.26 ERA (3 ER/6.1 IP) over five games with the White Sox this season.  He has gone 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA (15 ER/33.0 IP), two saves and 40 strikeouts over 21 relief appearances this season with the Knights.
