Colorado Rockies statement on honoring victims

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies are deeply saddened by the horrific act of senseless violence that took place in our community early this morning. All Coloradoans feel the pain and sorrow that has come with this tragedy. As part of the Colorado community, the Rockies share this pain with everyone involved. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families and friends, who will all be in our thoughts and prayers during this trying time.

To honor the victims and their families and friends, the Rockies players and coaches will wear black wrist bands along with their purple jerseys beginning tonight at San Diego in recognition of all those affected by this tragic event. The Rockies will also hang a black jersey in the dugout to symbolize the victims and their families to represent the Colorado community in this time of mourning.
