Calvin Harris Added to Rays 2012 Summer Concert Series Schedule

ST. PETERSBURG, FL—Songwriter and DJ Calvin Harris will perform a postgame concert at the conclusion of the Rays-Rangers game on Friday, September 7 at 7:10 p.m. as part of the Rays Summer Concert Series.

Calvin Harris was the most successful songwriter in the U.K. last year, according to trade magazine Music Week from a recent post on BBC's news site.  Leading the charge were his major smashes “We Found Love” for Rihanna and his own productions “Bounce” with Kelis and “Feel So Close,” which has now gone Platinum.  Harris’ newest track “Let's Go” featuring Ne-Yo—propelled by Harris’ synths paired with Ne-Yo’s vocals—is a high-energy electro-house track destined to become a summer anthem.  Live, Harris is a major festival act having dazzled audiences at Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival NYC with his stellar DJ sets.

The concert is free with the purchase of that date’s game ticket.  In addition to their game tickets, fans can watch Harris from the field by purchasing field access passes available at raysbaseball.com/concerts.

Other acts scheduled to perform this summer are: Gavin DeGraw (July 21 vs. SEA); The Wiggles (August 5 vs. BAL); O.A.R. (August 24 vs. OAK); and Coco Jones (September 9 vs. TEX).

Single game tickets for Rays 2012 regular season home games are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Rays Tampa Store (400 N. Tampa St.) and the Gate 1 Tropicana Field Box Office, as well as over the phone at 888-FAN-RAYS and 1-800-745-3000, or online at raysbaseball.com.  Select single game ticket pricing has been adjusted for some of these games.  Please visit raysbaseball.com for updated pricing information.

This marks the fifth season of the Rays Summer Concert Series.  Since it began in 2008, the Rays have gone 27-8 on Saturday concerts and averaged more than 30,000 fans on those dates.

The Rays Summer Concert Series is produced by Ruth Eckerd Hall on the Road.
