A's Reinstate Miller from Paternity List; Option Figueroa to Sacramento

The Oakland A’s reinstated right-handed pitcher Jim Miller from the paternity list and optioned left-handed pitcher Pedro Figueroa to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today.

Miller was placed on the paternity list last Friday.  He is 2-1 with a 1.78 ERA in 19 relief appearances with Oakland and opponents are batting .217, including .122 by left-handed hitters.  Miller has tossed two or more innings in seven of his 19 games.

Figueroa joined the A’s on Friday for his third stint with the club this year, but did not appear in a game over the weekend in Minnesota.  He has a 1.50 ERA in nine relief appearances with Oakland.  Figueroa is also 0-1 with a 1.67 ERA in 18 relief outings with Sacramento.  He has not allowed a home run in 27.0 innings and has held the opposition to a .186 batting average.
