Marlins face off against the Nationals

MIAMI –The Miami Marlins are ready to take on the Washington Nationals (July 13- 16) at Marlins Park. The four-game homestand will feature a fan giveaway (first 5,000 kids will receive a Logan Morrison kids toothbrush holder on July 15), Friday Night Live concert with Flo Rida, Saturday Spectacular featuring Colombian Heritage Night, Pudge Rodriguez Night and a post-game fireworks show, and special promotions including the Marlins All You Can Eat Special for just $24 on July 16, featuring a Vista Level ticket and all you can eat hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn, nachos, sodas and water.

Starting Friday, July 13, the Marlins will take on the Nationals. First pitch is set for 7:10 P.M. at Marlins Park. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the pre-game party on the West Plaza, plus fans can enjoy a public autograph session with DJ Laz from the new DJ 106.7 from 5:30 P.M. to 6 P.M. and a Marlins player from 6 P.M. to 6:20 P.M. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game and enjoy a Friday Night Live concert featuring Flo Rida sponsored by the 50 MPG Toyota Prius. The four-game series continues on Saturday, July 14 at 7:10 P.M. with a post-game party and fireworks show for the entire family on the West Plaza. This Saturday will feature pre-game entertainment on the West Plaza from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. and an autograph session with Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez on the Promenade Level. Saturday will also feature Colombian Heritage Night, presented by Aviance and Proexport Colombia.  On Family Sunday, July 15 the first 5,000 kids get a Logan Morrison kids toothbrush holder courtesy of UHealth.  Pre-game fun will feature entertainment with Radio Disney AM 990, DJ Petey and the Energy Team. Sunday is also Star Wars Day and fans can purchase a special Stars Wars package with a ticket and a custom Marlins Star Wars shirt for $25. Also, as part of Snapshot Sunday fans can take photos with a Marlins player on the Promenade level from 12 P.M. to 12:20 P.M. Post-game entertainment will include Diamond Dash where kids can run the bases after the game.

Monday, July 16, the series against the Nationals will conclude. First pitch is set for 7:10 P.M. at Marlins Park. Military personnel with I.D. can claim their free tickets in honor of Military Mondays sponsored by Outback Steakhouse. Also, fans can get the Marlins All You Can Eat Special for just $24; includes a Vista Level ticket and all you can eat hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn, nachos, sodas and water. All You Can Eat seats in the Legends Level are also available for $34 each. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 P.M.

SONY PLAY WITH A PRO TOURNAMENT FINALS: The winner from the Sony Play with a Pro Tournament will now be taking on Heath Bell in MLB the Show 2012 for the ultimate bragging rights.  Bell will be making a one hour appearance in the Sony Store in Aventura Mall, Friday July 13th from 11:00 AM to noon.  He will be playing the winner in a home run derby in MLB the Show 2012, as well as signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.  The winner from the tournament has also won a Sony digital camera and tickets to the July 13 game, Marlins vs. Nationals. 

RBI SOUTHEAST REGIONAL TOURNAMENT: The Southeast Regional Tournament will take place at Vero Beach Sports Village (formerly known as Dodgertown). The winners from each division will travel to Minnesota to compete in the RBI World Series where the Marlins have sent a team 3 of the last 4 years.

About Marlins RBI:

Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is a youth program offering children ages 13-18, who live in disadvantaged areas, the opportunity to participate in organized baseball. This program is designed to promote interest in baseball, academic achievement and social responsibility in underserved and disadvantaged areas of South Florida. The Marlins supply the uniforms, umpires and equipment for more than 500 children. All participants enjoy a fun and competitive summer league, clinics hosted by Marlins players and alumni, recognition on the field and an invitation to RBI Night, and the opportunity to be selected for the RBI All Star team that competes in the Southeast Regional Tournament.

THE BUCK-A-ROOS: CasaBlanca Academy will be bringing 20-25 special needs children as part of the Buck-A-Roos program. John Buck has donated tickets, a buckaroo shirt, food vouchers, and will also have a private meet and greet with the kids. John Buck will take part in a private meet and greet with the kids in the Media Press Conference Room.

The academy helps clinicians, parents and educators conduct a comprehensive assessment and develop an intervention program tailored to the unique challenges and strengths of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental challenges. The objectives are to build healthy foundations for social, emotional, and intellectual capacities rather than focusing on skills and isolated behaviors.

MIAMI CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL CHARITY PARTNER WEEKEND: The Miami Marlins named six local nonprofit organizations as “Charity Partners” for their Inaugural Season. During the season each charity will host one weekend a month, where every day they will share their works in the South Florida community with fans. Fans also have the opportunity to participate in silent auctions and raffles benefiting the charity partner. An online ticket special is available, where supporters can purchase tickets for the weekend and part of the proceeds benefit the charity.

PUDGE RODRIGUEZ DAY: The Marlins will honor and pay tribute to Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, with a pregame ceremony recognizing Pudge’s stellar career and his championship season with the Marlins in 2003. Instead of a traditional first pitch, Jeff Conine and Pudge will be re-enacting “the throw” from the National League Division Series in 2003.  Conine will be throwing the ball in from left field to Pudge at home plate. COLOMBIAN HERITAGE DAY PRESENTED BY AVIANCA AND PROEXPORT COLOMBIA: Avianca Airlines and Proexport Colombia will be presenting Colombian Heritage Day including a post-game fireworks show.  on Saturday July 14th.  The Marlins will pay homage to Colombian culture, heritage, baseball history and music throughout the game.  Pre-game entertainment on the plaza will include Colombian Grammy nominee Paula Zuleta.  Mini Colombian flags will be passed out at Marlins Fan HQ.  Bilingual PA announcements will be made by Jerry del Castillo throughout the game.

POOL BOY CONTEST AT THE CLEVELANDER AT MARLINS PARK: The Clevelander at Marlins Park is excited to hire a new Pool Boy to ensure that everyone has a little eye candy during Marlins home games. The pool boy will work as part of The Clevelander Marlins Park entertainment team and will be stationed in the famous pool side chair at Clevelander Marlins Park during select Miami Marlins home games starting with the home stand against the San Diego Padres on July 27th.

Pool boy hopefuls should be 21 years old or older, know their way around the water, and feel comfortable participating in the best party in baseball in a swimsuit, interacting with guests, Clevelander dancers and pool goers, serving as eye candy and party starter all in one package!

Following review of the submissions, five finalists will be selected to participate in a final judging on Saturday, July 14th at the Clevelander Marlins Park. No contestants outside of the five selected prior to the game will be admitted to judging.

Snapshot Sunday: On every Family Sunday this season, fans will be able to have their photograph taken with a Marlins player.  Fans are reminded to bring their own camera.  Snapshot Sunday is located on the Promenade Level in Section 28 from 12:00 P.M. to 12:20 P.M.

PREGAME ENTERTAINMENT: DJ Petey and the Marlins Energy Team will host a pregame party on the West Plaza, and Radio Disney AM 990 will be at Sec. 34 on the Promenade Level from 11 AM to 1 PM with music, games, prizes and more.  

MARLINS HOST STAR WARS™ DAY SUNDAY, JULY 15TH AT MARLINS PARK:

The Marlins are teaming up with Lucasfilm Ltd. to host the 2nd Annual Star Wars Day on Sunday, July 15th when the Marlins host the Washington Nationals at 1:10 p.m.

The “Jedi Pack,” which includes a game ticket and a Star Wars t-shirt, is available individually for $25 or at a group price for $23. Proceeds from packages sold will benefit Stand Up To Cancer.  In addition, Marlins retail stores will be selling the t-shirts separately and proceeds from those sales will also benefit Stand Up To Cancer.  A Star Wars VIP online auction is also available. The online auction package includes the Family Four Pack to the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando on Aug 23-26, four tickets to our Star Wars Day on July 15, four Star Wars Day t-shirts and a pre-game meet and greet with one Marlins player.  The auction ends on July 12th.  All proceeds from this online auction package will benefit Stand Up To Cancer. Everyone, including dependents, must present their own military I.D. at the box office to receive a ticket. Seating categories will be up to Home Plate Box and assigned based on availability.  Postseason games are not available through this offer. MARLINS ALL YOU CAN EAT SPECIAL: Fans can purchase the new All You Can Eat Special for just $24 per person, which includes a Vista Level ticket and All You Can Eat contains Hot Dogs, Soda, Water, Nachos, Peanuts and Popcorn.  Special is available online and at the box office, and can be sold as a group for the same price.  All You Can Eat seats are also available in the Legends Level for $34 each.

 

SOLDIER OF THE GAME: As part of Military Mondays the Miami Marlins will honor a current armed forces member prior to the game. They will have a private meet and greet with Marlins players.

MARLINS RADIO NETWORK: All 162 regular season games will be broadcast on 790 The Ticket and the Marlins Radio Network in English and on WAQI 710 AM in Spanish. The Marlins Radio Network consists of: WSWN 900 AM in Belle Glade, WELE 1380 AM in Daytona Beach, WEFL 760 AM in West Palm Beach, WFFG 1300 AM in Marathon, WKWF 1600 AM in Key West, WSTU 1450 AM in Stuart, WWCN 770 AM Fort Myers/Naples.

 

CELEBRATION CLUB: Marlins fans can display a personalized message on Marlins Vision for the home crowd to see for a donation to the Marlins Foundation. Personalized messages will be shown at the end of the 2nd inning of every Marlins home game.  Messages will run for the first 12 people who call the Marlins office to make a reservation or sign up at www.marlins.com/celebrationclub.  The cost is $75.00 per message, with all proceeds benefiting the Marlins Foundation. 

 

CHEVRON TICKET WEDNESDAYS: Receive 50% off select Marlins tickets when you fill up 8 gallons or more of gas at participating Chevron stations.  Just go inside at participating stations and claim you discount voucher, or save your gasoline receipt and bring it to the Marlins box office.  Tickets subject to availability, cannot be combined with other offers.
