Royals earn Golden Matrix Award for best show open in professional sports

KANSAS CITY, MO  — The Kansas City Royals Event Presentation & Production staff was recognized for excellence in the game entertainment industry by winning the IDEA Golden Matrix Award (GMA) for Best Show Open on Wednesday, July 11.  The award was presented during the 30th Annual Information Display Entertainment Association (IDEA) Conference held in Minneapolis, Minn.

The conference brought together approximately 300 professionals from the large-screen, event and in-game entertainment/presentation industry across MLB, NFL, NBA, NFL, colleges and universities, and minor league organizations.

The awards recognize artistic and technical excellence in the programming of large screen video and matrix displays located at stadiums, arenas, racetracks, convention centers and other public assembly facilities. 

Competing against the best from across professional and collegiate sports, the Royals captured the GMA for Best Show Open for the second-straight year for the video which runs on Kauffman Stadium’s CrownVision prior to every Royals home game.
