White Sox Announce Upcoming Series Activities

WHAT: Chicago White Sox promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for this week’s series vs. Texas.  Tickets are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and all Ticketmaster locations.

The game on Tuesday will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus, while Comcast SportsNet Chicago will broadcast the game on Wednesday.  Thursday’s game will be televised on WGN-TV.  All three games will air on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.  

There will be Pre-Game Voting Parties each day of the series at Bacardi at the Park to support White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy for the American League All-Star Final Vote.  The former Cy Young Award winner is competing for his third career All-Star appearance (also 2005 and 2007) and is looking to join Sox teammates Adam Dunn, Paul Konerko and Chris Sale on the AL team.  Fans attending the game are encouraged to use their cell phones to vote at whitesox.com and mlb.com/vote.  Balloting ends on 3 p.m. CT on Thursday, July 5.

Polish Heritage Night
National Anthem by Laureen Janeczek-Wysocki, Lyric Opera of Chicago
Ceremonial first pitch by Brandon Barnes, Operation Warm

Brandon Barnes, Operation Warm, accompanied on the mound by Cheryl Scott, meteorologist at NBC 5 Chicago, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.  Operation Warm provides new winter coats to children in need across the country.  Cheryl Scott is a long-time supporter of Operation Warm.

Laureen Janeczek-Wysocki, soprano of Polish descent in the chorus of Lyric Opera of Chicago, will perform the National Anthem.

In celebration of Polish Heritage Night, the dancers from Wesoly Lud of the PRCUA Polish Folk Dance Ensemble will perform on-field prior to the game.  Dancers from Electro Halny will be on the concourse dressed in traditional Polish attire to take photos with fans.  MJ Polish Deli will be serving pierogies, blintzes and potato pancakes in section 158.  Fans can purchase Polish flags through the top of the fourth inning at the Polish Heritage Night Party Shop located in section 159.

Independence Day Celebration and Patriotic Fireworks presented by FirstMerit Bank
National Anthem and God Bless America by Amanda Schnoebelen, White Sox
Ceremonial first pitch by a distinguished member of the United States Armed Forces

A distinguished member of the United States Armed forces, in honor of Independence Day, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Amanda Schnoebelen, White Sox employee from Chicago, will perform the National Anthem and God Bless America.

In celebration of Independence Day, members of the Unites States Armed Forces will join White Sox players on-field at the start of the game.  Fans can purchase patriotic gear at the Independence Day Celebration Party shop, located near the Gate 4 stage before the game and in section 159 through the third inning.  There also will be a balloon artist on the concourse.

After the game, fans will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show with a patriotic theme, presented by FirstMerit Bank.
