Reds reliever Jose Arredondo caught a break Thursday because of a scoring change made from Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Brewers. In the ninth inning, Cody Ransom bunted a ball fielded by Joey Votto, who made a wild throw to second base. It was originally ruled a sacrifice and fielder's choice by the official scorer.
That play has been changed to a fielder's choice and an error on Votto. Arredondo gave up three runs, three hits and three straight walks in that inning, including two with the bases loaded. Now all of those runs are in the book as unearned.
