LHP Martin Perez To Be Recalled By Texas

LHP Martin Perez will be recalled by the Texas Rangers from AAA Round Rock of the Pacific Coast League for tonight’s game against Detroit. Perez was scratched from his scheduled start today for Round Rock at Iowa.

Texas will make a corresponding move prior to tonight’s game to make room for Perez on the active roster.

Perez, who will be on the active major league roster for the first time, is 5-5, 4.59 in 15 starts at Round Rock this season. He has won his last 2 starts, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs in 16.0 innings, including a complete game win on June 21 vs. Iowa.

The Rangers and Tigers continue their series tonight at 7:05 p.m. with Yu Darvish (9-4) facing Drew Smyly (2-2).
