SAN DIEGO -- Padres pitcher Micah Owings has been shut down from his rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Tucson because of soreness in his right forearm.

He is on the Padres' 60-day disabled list for a strained right forearm, retroactive to April 26.

"He was close [to returning]," Padres manager Bud Black said. "He was warming up to go into a game.

"He's back to, I wouldn't say square one, but it's a setback."
