The Storm Chasers extended their winning streak to nine with an opening victory at Nashville. Wil Myers drove in two on the night, including a solo homer in the seventh. Myers' 23 home runs trail only Toledo's Brad Eldred (24) among all minor league players. Ryan Verdugo scattered two runs on five hits and four walks over 6.0 innings. Louis Coleman earned the save in his first appearance since rejoining Omaha.

The Double-A squads of St. Louis and KC met in Springfield, with Northwest Arkansas using a four-run fourth for the win. Paulo Orlando recorded three hits and a run. Former Nebraska Cornhusker Michael Mariot held Springfield to two runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.0 innings. Missouri State product Buddy Baumann followed with 2.1 scoreless frames.

Wilmington defeated Winston-Salem to snap an eight-game skid. Brett Eibner tripled home Brian Fletcher to tie the game at 3-3 in the sixth. Eibner scored the go-ahead run on a single by Geulin Beltre. Starter Jason Adam scattered three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over 5.2 IP. Sam Runion tossed 2.1 scoreless frames for the relief win.

Kane County was officially eliminated from the first-half playoff race. Starter Jason Mitchell limited the River Bandits to a run on three hits and four walks over 5.2 IP. Quad Cities rallied with three in the seventh to take a 4-3 lead. Jorge Bonifacio was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. He is 9-for-19 with 12 RBI over his last four games
