PITTSBURGH -- The list of players signed by the Royals from the 2012 First-Year Player Draft is growing. As of Friday afternoon, there were 19 of their 40 selections under contract.

Joining the first-round pick, right-hander Kyle Zimmer of the University of San Francisco, were third-rounder Colin Rodgers, a left-handed pitcher from Parkview Baptist High School in Baton Rouge, La.; fifth-rounder Chad Johnson, a catcher from Galesburg (Ill.) High, and sixth-rounder Zachary Lovvorn, a right-handed pitcher from Oxford (Ala.) High. All of them were among the first 200 players selected by Major League clubs.

The Royals also have signed:

• Round 7 -- Outfielder Fred Ford, Jefferson (Mo.) Community College.

• Round 8 -- Outfielder Alfredo Escalera-Maldonado, Pendleton School in Bradenton, Fla.

• Round 9 -- Left-handed pitcher Daniel Stumpf, San Jacinto North (Tex.) Community College.

• Round 10 -- Outfielder Alexis Rivera, Montverde (Fla.) Academy.

• Round 11 -- Right-handed pitcher Zebulon Sneed, Northwest Nazarene University.

• Round 13 -- Left-handed pitcher Hunter Haynes, Mexico (Mo.) High.

• Round 14 -- Catcher Parker Morin, University of Utah.

• Round 15 -- Left-handed pitcher Dylan Sons, Halifax County (Va.) High.

• Round 17 -- Outfielder Ariel Estades, Puerto Rico Baseball Academy.

• Round 19 -- Right-handed pitcher Andrew Triggs, University of Southern California.

• Round 20 -- Right-handed pitcher Shane Halley, University of Virginia.

• Round 21 -- Left-handed pitcher Matthew Strahm, Neosho County (Kan.) Community College.

• Round 24 -- Catcher Beau Maggi, Arizona State University.

• Round 25 -- Left-handed pitcher Matthew Tenuta, Apex (N.C.) High.

• Round 32 -- Left-handed pitcher Patrick Conroy, Marin (Calif.) Community College.
