Shortstop Stephen Drew played a complete game in an extended spring contest Saturday, marking the first time he had played in back-to-back games since injuring his ankle last July 20.
Drew was 0-for-3 with a walk and manager Kirk Gibson was given a medical report that said Drew's physical condition was improved Saturday.
With the extended spring season now over, the team will have to decide whether Drew is ready to go out on a Minor League rehab assignment.
: Reliever Takashi Saito threw one inning in the same extended spring game Drew played in and allowed one run. Saito, who has been out all year with a calf strain, went through additional pitcher fielding practice following his outing.
Sunday's game will be broadcast free online at dbacks.com courtesy of MLB.com. The game is not being televised because a marathon being held in San Diego caused the game time to be pushed back to 3:35 p.m. MST, which put it inside ESPN's exclusive TV window.
