Homestand preview: June 1-10

MILWAUKEE, WI – The Milwaukee Brewers begin the month of June with a nine-game, 10-day homestand (tied for the season’s longest) at Miller Park against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres.  Homestand highlights at Miller Park include the following:

Friday, June 1 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 7:10 p.m.

Brewers $13 Fair Friday: At Miller Park, every Friday is a $13 Fair Friday. A Fair Friday purchase includes one Terrace Reserved ticket to any Friday Brewers game during the 2012 season and one general admission ticket to the Wisconsin State Fair presented by U.S. Cellular®. Saturday, June 2 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 6:10 p.m.

Cerveceros Day: The Brewers will host the Seventh Annual Cerveceros Day events at Miller Park as the Brewers take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Players and coaches will take the field in jerseys with the traditional “Brewers” script replaced by the Spanish language translation “Cerveceros.” The Pirates will also participate and wear uniforms that read “Piratas.” The Brewers along with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin will honor Carmen Rivas as the recipient of the 2012 HCCW Cerveceros Legacy Award.

RBI Coaches Clinic: Over 80 area baseball coaches from the Beckum-Stapleton, Felix Mantilla, RBI/Jr. RBI of Greater Milwaukee and Girls of Summer Softball youth programs will participate in the RBI Coaches Clinic that will take place on Saturday, June 2 from 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on the field at Miller Park. Brewers coaches will share best practices on game preparation, batting, pitching, base running and fielding. The clinic is designed to provide coaches with the proper fundamental techniques and educate them on the best practices when injuries occur. 

Sunday, June 3 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 1:10 p.m.

MLB Network Drawstring Backpack: The first 40,000 fans will receive a drawstring backpack, courtesy of MLB Network.

Family Days: For just $50, fans can purchase four Terrace Reserved tickets to Sunday’s home game and receive four coupons for free hot dogs and small sodas. Family Days tickets are $12.50 each. Must be purchased at least 48 hours in advance of the game.

Coupons may be redeemed from the time gates open through the conclusion of the first inning, compliments of Blue Bunny Ice Cream.

Monday, June 4 – Off Day

2012 MLB First-Year Player Draft: Although an off day for the team, Monday marks Day 1 of Major League Baseball’s First-Year Player Draft. The Brewers own the 27th and 28th selections in the first round as well as the 38th overall selection in the compensatory first round. The MLB Draft, which spans three days, will begin live on MLB Network and MLB.com at 6 p.m. CT on Monday.

Potawatomi Baseball Cap: The first 20,000 fans 21 and older will receive a Potawatomi baseball cap, courtesy of Potawatomi Bingo Casino.

U.S. Cellular®  Magnet Photo Frame: The first 40,000 fans will receive a magnet photo frame, courtesy of U.S. Cellular®. 

Autograph Saturdays for Kids. Prior to select Saturday home games, Brewers players and coaches will autograph photo cards for kids 14 and under. Autograph Saturday dates include: June 9 (1:45pm to 2:05pm), July 14 (4:45pm to 5:05pm) and August 18 (4:45pm to 5:05pm)

Sunday, June 10 vs. San Diego Padres, 1:10 p.m.

Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board Nyjer Morgan Bobblehead: All fans will receive a collectible Brewers bobblehead, featuring Brewers outfielder Nyjer Morgan. 5,000 random collectibles will feature Tony Plush making the “T” sign and the rest will be Morgan in a batting stance, compliments of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board.

Aquafina Pitch, Hit & Run Program: The youth skills program reached more than 685,000 boys and girls between the ages of seven and 14, providing an integrated competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball and softball skills. Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) invites youth to demonstrate their skills and compete in pitching, hitting and running abilities. PHR participants can advance through four levels of competition, beginning at the local level, which can be hosted by organizations, leagues, or volunteers within a community, and continuing through sectional and team competitions. Before Sunday’s game, the top 16 qualifiers from Wisconsin will compete at Miller Park in hopes of advancing to the National Finals at the 2012 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Kansas City, MO.

Prostate Cancer Foundation Home Run Challenge: The Prostate Cancer Foundation Home Run Challenge is a  fundraising and awareness program that helps provide the world’s leading researchers with the funds necessary to find better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for prostate cancer, a disease that affects one in six American men. Monday, June 11 – Off Day

Davey Nelson’s Celebrity Golf Tournament: Join Davey Nelson for the 4th Annual Davey Nelson Celebrity Golf Tournament at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, WI. The day begins with a golf clinic and brunch buffet before foursomes tee off for a shotgun start with a celebrity golfer.
