CLEVELAND -- The countdown is down to 41 days until the July 10 All-Star Game at Kansas City, but time is shorter than that for Royals fans to cast their ballots.

Manager Ned Yost noted on Tuesday that there don't seem to be any clear-cut choices on his team so far, but certainly designated hitter Billy Butler, shortstop Alcides Escobar and third baseman Mike Moustakas are among the vote-eligible players who have made a noise this season.

The Royals haven't had a player elected to the starting lineup since outfielder Jermaine Dye in 2000. And in the 1989 balloting, outfielder Bo Jackson was the American League's highest vote-getter and then became the game's MVP.
