Blackburn makes first rehab start
MINNEAPOLIS -- Right-hander Nick Blackburn, who is on the disabled list with a left quad strain, made his first rehab start with Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.
The sinkerballer allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits with three walks over 3 2/3 innings against Triple-A Charlotte. He struck out two and threw 68 pitches.
Blackburn is scheduled to make another rehab start with the Red Wings on Sunday, and if all goes well, he would then rejoin Minnesota's rotation.
Blackburn struggled in seven starts with the Twins, posting an 8.37 ERA before being placed on the disabled list on May 17.
