Dodgers recall Nathan Eovaldi
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled right-handed pitcher Nathan Eovaldi from Double-A Chattanooga after optioning left-hander Michael Antonini following last night’s game. Eovaldi will be the Dodgers’ starting pitcher tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers for his 2012 debut.
Eovaldi will be making his second stint with the Dodgers this season, though he did not appear in a game during his previous recall from April 27-29. The 22-year-old last pitched on Tuesday against Jacksonville, striking out three in a scoreless inning of relief, and is 2-2 with a 3.09 ERA in nine games (eight starts) with the Lookouts this season. The Texas native appeared in 10 games with Los Angeles last year, going 1-2 with a 3.63 ERA in 10 games (six starts), and is in his fifth professional season after being selected by the Dodgers in the 11th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft.
