• The Rangers have promoted reliever Johan Yan to Triple-A Round Rock. He had a 2.00 ERA with Double-A Frisco. Right-handed pitcher Zach Osborne, who had a 0.75 ERA at Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach, replaced him at Frisco. Osborne was a ninth-round pick in 2010 out of the University of Louisiana Lafayette.

• Outfielder Ryan Strausborger has been placed on the disabled list at Round Rock with a strained oblique muscle.

• The Rangers had three straight home runs from their bottom three hitters on Saturday afternoon. Nelson Cruz, Yorvit Torrealba and Mitch Moreland hit consecutive home runs in the sixth inning. That's only the fifth time in 10 years that a Major League team has had three straight home runs from the bottom third of its order.

The Rangers have three of those five. Moreland, Mike Napoli and Endy Chavez did so last year and Laynce Nix, Rod Barajas and Adrian Gonzalez did so in 2004.
