Worth noting

• A trio of injury updates: Outfielder Jason Bay (fractured left rib) is taking light swings off a tee but is not close to a return. Catcher Josh Thole (concussion) has increased his cardio work and could travel to Port St. Lucie, Fla., for continued rehab as soon as Monday. Shortstop Ruben Tejada (strained right quad) is already in St. Lucie taking ground balls, but has not yet begun baserunning drills.

• Chris Young will receive an extra day between Minor League starts this week because his wife is expecting. Young, who is rehabbing from right shoulder surgery, last pitched Wednesday and has made two total starts for Class A St. Lucie. His next outing could come either at St. Lucie or Triple-A Buffalo.

• Catcher Rob Johnson made his first start at catcher Friday since jamming his left thumb last week. Johnson laid down a pinch-hit bunt single in Thursday's game, though it was not out of necessity; he was healthy enough to swing away if needed.

• Gloria Estefan will headline the Megaton Mundial de Polito Vega concert July 14 at Citi Field, which will include more than a dozen other Latin music stars. Tickets start at $49 and go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. ET at Tickets.com, by phone at (718) 507-TIXX and at the Citi Field ticket windows.
