FRIDAY, MAY 18

  1. Stitch n’ Pitch: The Nationals will once again partner with The National NeedleArts Association to host the sixth annual Stitch n’ Pitch event, giving fans the opportunity to crochet, knit or embroider while cheering on the team. For more information, visit nationals.com/stitchnpitch.

SATURDAY, MAY 19

  • Nationals Script Cap Giveaway*: The first 30,000 fans to enter Nationals Park through Center Field Gate will receive a Nationals Script Cap presented by ExxonMobil.
  • Peanut-Free Baseball: The first of four Peanut-Free Baseball Days of the season will give fans with peanut allergies the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon at the ballpark in a peanut-free environment from one of three Party Suites. Future Peanut-Free dates include July 22, August 18 and September 9. 
  • Washington Informer Spelling Bee and “It’s Academic”: The Nationals will once again celebrate winners of the Washington Informer Spelling Bee on the field during the pregame ceremonies.  In addition, the team will present the spirit award to Mac McGarry, longtime host of “It’s Academic.” McGarry retired in 2011 after hosting the popular local quiz show for 50 years. 

SUNDAY, MAY 20

  • Kids T-Shirt Giveaway*: The first 10,000 fans 12 and under to enter Nationals Park through Center Field Gate will receive a free Kids T-shirt presented by ExxonMobil.
  • MLB Honorary Bat Girl/Heroes Against Childhood Cancer: In partnership with Major League Baseball and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the Nationals will recognize Laurie Jo Neary, the team’s winner of this year’s Honorary Bat Girl contest on the field prior to the game. Laurie Jo is one of 30 winners, each representing a different MLB club, and was among more than 1,500 entrants selected by a guest judging panel that included MLB players and celebrities in addition to fan voting via HonoraryBatGirl.com.

PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION

Fans planning to utilize Metro’s Orange, Green and Red Lines to attend Nationals games against the Orioles May 19-20 are encouraged to add at least 20 minutes to their travel time due to scheduled station closings and weekend track maintenance.
