All-Star Webb enjoying perks of NY

All-Star Webb enjoying fashion perks of NY

|
NEW YORK -- Ballplayer fashion is a funny thing. Dress too casually, and your teammates will bust your chops. Dress too flamboyantly, though, and you're going to hear it much more.

Brandon Webb has found that out. But like NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, he's embraced the grief, rather than running from it.

After teammates gave him a hard time for wearing a flashy Robert Graham brand print shirt that his wife, Alicia, picked out for him, Webb wasn't about to back down. Not only did he keep wearing the shirt, he started making it a point to wear Robert Graham shirts whenever he pitched.

Webb's trip to New York for the All-Star Game allowed him to up the ante. He visited a store in the city specializing in the shirts, got fitted and measured, and bought several. At his Workout Day news conference, he was sporting one of the new tops, and there are sure to be plenty more to come.

"It was sweet, dude," Webb said. "I'm set up now."
