Class A Wisconsin right-hander Andy Moye was named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week after working 10 scoreless innings in one start and one relief appearance. He allowed only four hits. The Brewers drafted Moye in the 15th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft.
While the Brewers are swinging bats in New York and Houston, their wives will be swinging hammers back home, as volunteers for the Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity 2012 Build-A-Thon. Brewers Community Foundation is the presenting sponsor of the five-day event and teamed with Ryan Braun to make a $50,000 donation toward construction of Marquitta Smith's new home in the city's Amani neighborhood.
"It is so gratifying to be able to spend the day building right alongside Marquitta. All of the new homeowners are working so hard for this opportunity," said Ellen Melvin, wife of Brewers general manager Doug Melvin. "It's truly an honor for all of us to be a part of the event and the result -- a rejuvenated Milwaukee neighborhood."
