It’s National Tourism Week – and the Phillies and Independence Visitor Center are celebrating with a “Welcome to Philadelphia Parade” for Philadelphia visitors and fans alike.
The festivities take place on Saturday, May 12, from noon to 1:00 p.m., inside the Independence Visitor Center – where all will be invited to join the Phanatic as he marches through the center, accompanied by colonial fife and drums, the Phillies Ballgirls, and Scott Palmer, Phillies Director of Public Affairs.
The Phanatic’s first stop will be at a Phillies video display created especially for tourists visiting the Philadelphia area, which includes a “Welcome to Philadelphia” message from Phillies’ Ryan Howard.
The event is free and also features face painting and balloon artists. All attendees will be given rally towels (while supplies last).
The Independence Visitor Center is located at 6th & Market Streets in Philadelphia, Pa.
