CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox official summer baseball and fastpitch softball camps, run by the Bulls-Sox Academy, are coming to over 60 communities this summer throughout the Chicagoland area and northwest Indiana. In their 18th year, these camps provide unmatched quality training for every athlete and ability promoting fun, hard work and improving fundamental skills.
For the second straight year, the Academy will provide each summer camper, along with one guest, an exceptional behind-the scenes tour of U.S. Cellular Field, a Q&A session with a current White Sox player, coach and radio/TV personality, as well as a photo opportunity with the 2005 World Series trophy.
“We are proud to offer this exclusive experience to all our camp participants. Beyond working on their game, these young athletes now have a rare opportunity to visit U.S. Cellular Field and meet Chicago White Sox personalities,” said Xan Pearson, Bulls-Sox Academy Vice President of Marketing. “The professional instruction and the opportunity to engage with a pro athlete set us apart from other summer camp programs.”
The different five-day summer camps are broken down by age and skill level: beginners, ages 5-6; intermediate, ages 7-8; and advanced, ages 9-11. In all three programs, the coaching staff comprised of former collegiate, professional players and coaches focuses on the essential skills of baseball – hitting, throwing, fielding, pitching, bunting and base running. Additionally, all campers receive six ticket vouchers for a White Sox game (restrictions apply), an Academy hat, camp T-shirt and graduation certificate.
The Academy also offers two camps at U.S. Cellular Field, giving kids the opportunity to see their dream of playing on a Major League field come true, one of which is a designated adult/child camp, providing unparalleled training and an invaluable bonding experience.
