D-backs Baseball Academy to host summer camps

The D-backs' Baseball Academy, presented by Grand Canyon University, will host 33 baseball and softball camps throughout the Valley this summer, including a three-day camp at Chase Field and an elite player development camp in Scottsdale at  Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, the D-backs' award-winning Spring Training site.

The camps are designed for youth ages 6-18 years old and are taught by instructors who are hand-picked by the D-backs' organization from a group of former professional players and local collegiate and high school coaches.  

  • Five-Day Youth Camps, available for youth ages 6-14, focus on comprehensive baseball fundamentals including throwing, hitting, defense and pitching. Registration is $175 for each participant and includes 15 hours of instruction, a D-backs T-shirt, cap and a ticket to a D-backs home game with an option to purchase additional tickets at a discounted rate. Select camps will feature an appearance by a D-backs former player or current player or coach.
  • Elite Player Development Camp, available for youth ages 13-18, focus on taking players to the next level through professional instruction from the D-backs' organization. The two-day camp takes place at the state-of-the-art facilities located at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, the same fields where the D-backs develop their own professional baseball players. Registration is $250 and includes two days of four-hour sessions with specific positional play and video analysis and an appearance by a D-backs former player or current player or coach.
  • Chase Field Experience Camp, available for youth ages 6-14, is a three-day ultimate baseball experience that includes on-field instruction at the ballpark, a behind-the-scenes tour of Chase Field and a special visit from a current D-backs former player or current player or coach. Campers will watch batting practice from the field and will be recognized on dbTV before the game. Registration is $350 and includes a D-backs T-shirt, cap and a ticket to a D-backs home game with an option to purchase additional tickets at a discounted rate.


The D-backs' Baseball Academy, presented by Grand Canyon University, is in its 13th season as the official year-round baseball and fast-pitch softball instruction division of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The academy's hand-picked instructors have taught thousands of youth to "Learn to Play the D-backs Way!" at a variety of camps and clinics at facilities such as Chase Field, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Grand Canyon University and parks throughout the Greater Phoenix area. The camps offer a highly choreographed schedule to maximize participation and activity time and boast quality instruction with a 1:10 instructor-to-student ratio to ensure the best possible learning experience.
