Weiland treated for shoulder infection
Houston Astros right-handed pitcher Kyle Weiland underwent arthroscopic surgery today for an infection in his right shoulder, General Manager Jeff Luhnow announced.
Weiland's shoulder was cleaned out by Dr. Pat McCulloch at The Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Weiland was placed on the 15-day Disabled List on Friday due to discomfort in his right shoulder. He had made three starts for the Astros this season prior to going on the DL.
