Turn 2 to host All-Star Charity Auctions

Turn 2 to host All-Star Charity Auctions

|
The 2008 All-Star Game promises to be an amazing experience with several of the game's legends joining the stars of today to celebrate the final year of baseball at Yankee Stadium.

Fans can also take part in an All-Star event of their own with the Turn 2 Charity Auctions, which will be held online from Thursday through July 3. Net proceeds from these auctions will benefit Turn 2 Foundation, Inc., Derek Jeter's official charity.

The Turn 2 Foundation was established in 1996, Jeter's rookie year, to create and support signature programs and activities that motivate young people to turn away from drugs and alcohol and "Turn 2" healthy lifestyles.

Through these ventures, the foundation strives to create outlets that promote and reward academic excellence, leadership development and positive behavior. Turn 2's goal is to see the children of these programs grow safely and successfully into adulthood and become the leaders of tomorrow.

Sharlee Jeter, Derek's sister and vice president of Turn 2, is thrilled that this year's historic Midsummer Classic will help raise awareness about the foundation's mission.

"To have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to auction off tickets to the All-Star festivities this year is something that will raise a tremendous amount of money for our cause to promote healthy lifestyles amongst today's youth," said Jeter. "Any time we can utilize an opportunity like this to auction unique packages and experiences that are not only high in demand, but also a lot of fun for fans and supporters, we couldn't ask for anything more."

Turn 2 is offering two All-Star Experience Packages as part of the Charity Auctions. For the first package, fans will bid on the opportunity to collect the following:

• 2 tickets to the 2008 All-Star FanFest
• 2 tickets to the 2008 All-Star Gala
• 2 tickets to the 2008 All-Star Workout Day and Home Run Derby
• 2 tickets to the 2008 All-Star Game
• 2 hotel accommodations (1 room with double beds) for three nights (Saturday through Tuesday)
• 2 unique autographed Derek Jeter memorabilia items

Those who bid on the second All-Star Experience Package will get the chance to receive:

• 2 tickets to 2008 All-Star FanFest
• 2 tickets to the 2008 All-Star Workout Day and Home Run Derby
• 2 tickets to the Pre-All-Star Game Party
• 2 tickets to the 2008 All-Star Game
• 2 unique autographed Derek Jeter memorabilia items

In addition, there are two more auctions that involve both All-Star festivities and subsequent Turn 2 Foundation events.

The third auction provides fans with the opportunity to take part in the Yankee Stadium Hall of Fame Suite Meet and Greet Experience on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008. This package includes:

• 5 tickets to 2008 All-Star FanFest
• 5 tickets to the Hall of Fame Suite at Yankee Stadium (meet and greet immediately following the game in the Great Moments Room)
• One (1) group Photo with Derek Jeter printed for each guest, including an autographed final season commemorative photo sleeve
• 5 unique autographed Derek Jeter memorabilia items

And finally, there's an auction for the chance to soak in the Yankees Legends Yacht Cruise Experience on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008. This package includes:

• 5 tickets to 2008 All-Star FanFest
• 5 tickets to Turn 2 Yankees Legends Yacht Cruise
• 5 unique autographed Derek Jeter memorabilia items

While proceeds from these auctions will benefit a worthy cause for kids, they also provide adults with the chance to feel like a kid again by watching and interacting with baseball stars from the past and present.

The auctions begin on Thursday, so place your bids and start making plans for a midsummer experience of a lifetime.
