Repko, 31, has hit .538 (7-for-13) with a double, homer, two RBI, three runs and a walk in four games with Triple-A Pawtucket this year, appearing in right field and center field, and as the designated hitter. Signed by the Red Sox as a minor league free agent in January, Repko has appeared in 355 Major League games over six seasons with the Dodgers (2005-06, 2008-09) and Twins (2010-11), batting .226 (156-for-689) with 29 doubles, four triples, 16 home runs, 67 RBI, 105 runs, 52 walks and 27 stolen bases. Selected by Los Angeles in the supplemental round (37th overall) of the 1999 First-Year Player Draft, he has played all three outfield positions in his Big League career with 132 games in right, 114 in center and 81 in left. Repko has committed just one error over his last four seasons in the Majors since 2008 for a .995 fielding percentage (191 total chances) in that time.
The 26-year-old Spears is in his third season in the Red Sox organization. He made his Major League debut with Boston last September, appearing in three games with the club. The left-handed batter has played in eight games with Triple-A Pawtucket this year, going 6-for-26 (.231) with two RBI, five runs and three walks, and has tallied two hits in two of his last three tilts with the PawSox. Spears, who appeared at all four infield positions as well as left and right field over 96 games with the PawSox in 2011, has played exclusively at second base in the field this season. Originally selected by Baltimore in the fifth round of the 2003 First-Year Player Draft, he has hit .272 (900-for-3,305) with 171 doubles, 43 triples, 55 home runs, 377 RBI, 536 runs, 427 walks and 85 stolen bases in 966 minor league games in the Orioles, Cubs and Red Sox organizations.
The 23-year-old Lin made his Major League debut as a defensive replacement in center field in the ninth inning yesterday against the Rays after being recalled from Pawtucket prior to the game. He became the first Taiwanese-born player to appear in a game for the Red Sox and the eighth Major Leaguer from Taiwan overall in Big League history. In six games with the PawSox this season, all in center field, he is 3-for-20 (.150) with a double, a home run, three walks and a stolen base. In 520 minor league games in the Boston system since signing as an international free agent on June 8, 2007, he has compiled a .256 average (513-for-2,003) with 82 doubles, 21 triples, 21 homers, 187 RBI, 336 runs, 264 walks and 131 stolen bases.
Bowden, 25, had no record and a 3.00 ERA (1 ER/3.0 IP) in two appearances with Boston this season. In 39 career Major League appearances (two starts) over the last five seasons since 2008, the right-hander owns a 2-2 record with a 5.61 ERA (37 ER/59.1 IP) and 48 strikeouts compared to 23 walks. A supplemental round selection by the Red Sox in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft (47th overall), Bowden is 42-32 with a 3.19 ERA (245 ER/690.1 IP) and 615 strikeouts in 178 career minor league appearances (119 starts) from 2005-11.
Exposito had appeared in three games for the PawSox in 2012, going 2-for-10 (.200) with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in. Selected by Boston in the 31st round of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, he has a .268 batting average (495-for-1,848) with 121 doubles, five triples, 50 home runs, 281 RBI and 227 runs scored in 486 career minor league games. Exposito, 25, had two stints with Boston, both last season, but did not appear in a Major League game.
