Blue Jays take field for charity at "CURVE BALL" Thursday

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS players, coaches and special alumni guests will take the field at Rogers Centre in support of Jays Care Foundation on Thursday, April 12. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. More than 800 VIP guests will be in attendance at THE CURVE BALL, presented by Rogers, Ericsson and Cisco, including: individuals from corporate Toronto, event sponsors and the entire 2012 Toronto Blue Jays roster. Decked out in their denim and diamonds, guests will enjoy an evening emceed by Sportsnet's Buck Martinez, a gourmet Aramark dinner, a live performance by Soular, and exclusive live and silent auctions.

Guests will mix & mingle with 2012 Toronto Blue Jays players, coaches and notable alumni, as well as Paul Beeston, Director, Jays Care Foundation Board of Directors and President and CEO, Toronto Blue Jays, Alex Anthopoulos, General Manager, Toronto Blue Jays, Melinda Rogers, Chair, Jays Care Foundation Board of Directors and Sr. Vice-President, Strategy & Development, Rogers Communications Inc. and Keith Pelley, Director, Jays Care Foundation Board of Directors and President, Rogers Media.

The event will also include a cocktail reception and gourmet dinner, live and silent auctions, a live performance by Soular and a call to action by Keith Pelley.

Since 1992, Jays Care Foundation has created opportunities for children and youth in need by providing access to programs that promote regular physical activity, encourage the pursuit of higher education and impart fundamental life skills. The foundation has made possible the building of dedicated, accessible, safe youth spaces for recreational programming, inspiring engagement through the sport of baseball. In 2011 alone, Jays Care contributed more than $1.4 million to initiatives and facilities across Ontario and beyond, and provided 17,000 kids access to vital programs and services through Field of Dreams funding, Grand Slam Grants, the Home Run Scholars program and and Rookie League camps.
