White Sox continue tradition of honoring the military

The Chicago White Sox will continue to offer all active duty military personnel complimentary individual-game tickets to select 2012 home games at U.S. Cellular Field.

The complimentary ticket program, which began in 2002, provides one free game ticket to any servicemember who shows active duty military identification at the Gate 4 ticket windows at U.S. Cellular Field on the day of a game. Over the past two seasons, the White Sox have provided nearly 13,000 tickets to active duty military personnel through the program.

The White Sox also will continue recognizing a military "Hero of the Game" during each home game, honoring an active or retired member of the military for their service.

"These are small ways the White Sox can show gratitude to these incredibly brave men and women for their service to our country," said Brooks Boyer, White Sox senior vice president of sales and marketing. "The White Sox are honored to recognize these individuals at U.S. Cellular Field and proud to participate in military initiatives throughout the year."

Complimentary military tickets are subject to availability and limited to Regular and Prime games.
