A's Place Daric Barton on 15-Day Disabled List

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s placed first baseman Daric Barton on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 24 with a strained right shoulder, the club announced today.  Barton was limited to just seven games this spring, batting .176 with a double and no RBI.

The A’s now have 26 active players on the 40-man roster.  The breakdown includes 12 pitchers, two catchers, six infielders and six outfielders.  The A’s have 40 players on the 40-man roster plus Brett Anderson and Scott Sizemore, who are on the 60-day disabled list.  The roster must be reduced to 25 players by tomorrow.
