Braves and Indians Announce One-Player Trade

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - The Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Indians announced today that the two clubs have completed a one-player trade. The Braves have acquired cash considerations from the Indians in exchange for right-handed pitcher Jairo Asencio.

Asencio, 27, went 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA in nine appearances over two seasons (2009 and 2011) with the Braves. In 2011, Asencio appeared in six games for the Major League Club and he made 47 relief appearances for the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves, going 3-2 with a 1.81 ERA, while recording 26 saves.
