Two Minor League players suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

St. Louis Cardinals Minor League catcher Cody Stanley has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for Methylhexaneamine and Tamoxifen.  The suspension of Stanley, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Quad Cities River Bandits, will be effective at the start of this season.

Minnesota Twins Minor League left-handed pitcher Aaron Thompson has received a 50-game suspension after a second violation for a drug of abuse.  The suspension of Thompson, who is currently on the roster of the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings, will be effective at the start of the season.
