New centerfield area at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington

Arlington, TX—The Texas Rangers and the club’s long-time partner, Budweiser, have entered into a multi-year agreement that includes the naming rights to the new centerfield entertainment area at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, it was announced today.

The Budweiser Bowtie at Vandergriff Plaza will incorporate nearly 12,000 square feet of new food and beverage options as well as other great amenities that will significantly enhance the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington experience for adult fans.

“The Texas Rangers are thrilled to extend our partnership with Budweiser as part of our ballpark renovations,” commented Rangers CEO and President Nolan Ryan.  “This new era in Rangers baseball is an exciting time and we appreciate our friends and partners at Budweiser extending their long time commitment to this franchise.  Our ownership group is making a significant investment both on the field with our players and throughout Rangers Ballpark with this multi-year improvement plan.  It is a pleasure to work alongside partners that see the vision of the club and want to help us achieve our goals together.”

“As a longtime partner of the Texas Rangers, we’re excited to help bolster fans’ game day experience with the introduction of the Budweiser Bowtie at Vandergriff Plaza,” said Blaise D'Sylva, vice president of media, sports & entertainment marketing, Anheuser-Busch.  “The recent renovations, highlighted by the Budweiser Bowtie, have reaffirmed Rangers Ballpark’s status as one of the league’s premier stadiums, and we look forward to celebrating another great season in Arlington.”

The Budweiser Bowtie at Vandergriff Plaza will have four new full-service concession stands.  Each of the stands will have points of sale on three sides with a total of six per stand to shorten waiting times. Seating clusters and picnic tables will be incorporated into the area, which will provide shade for additional comfort. An 11’by 20’ HD video board has been installed one of the back wall to allow guests dining on The Budweiser Bowtie at Vandergriff Plaza to keep up with the action on the field.

One feature that remains is the life size bronze statues of Nolan Ryan and the late Tom Vandergriff, for whom the Plaza was named when Rangers Ballpark in Arlington opened in 1994.

In addition, Budweiser will brand a private group space down the right field line called the Budweiser Bullpen, where guests will be able to take in the Rangers game from a unique field level view.

Budweiser is the official beer sponsor of the Texas Rangers and has been a partner of the ballclub for more than 30 years.

In addition to The Budweiser Bowtie at Vandergriff Plaza, the Rangers’ extensive offseason upgrades to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington include the construction of a new club and restaurant/sports bar. In addition, the areas that previously contained bleacher seats have been reconfigured with Outfield Plaza seating and the visitors bullpen has been moved. The entire project, which encompasses more than 55,000 square feet in centerfield and the office building first floor, is expected to be completed by the first week in April.
