Stars Make Bold Predictionsand Prepare for Glory in New Opening Day MLB Spots

Jose Bautista promises to “shatter records”… Evan Longoria pledges to “make my glove golden”… Andrew McCutchen says he’ll “take away center field”... Shane Victorino promises to lead the league in triples… Matt Kemp boasts that he’ll “let #beastmode off its leash”…

These and other bold predictions from some of baseball’s biggest stars – including Paul Konerko, Alexei Ramirez, Troy Tulowitzki, Justin Upton and Justin Verlander – make up one of two new spots debuting this week in advance of #OpeningDay. In the second spot, the stars channel their inner child and act out their dream performance in a crucial game situation.  For that spot, titled “The Play,” the song "Tick of the Clock" by Chromatics serves as the soundtrack.

The spots will debut this week on ESPN, MLB Network and, and will also be featured throughout the opening weeks of the season on FOX and TBS. Additional footage from these shoots will be featured on in the coming weeks.  Major League Baseball and Hill Holliday worked with award winning production company HSI and the directing duo of brothers Emmett and Brendan Malloy to produce the spots.
