Area teachers are invited to join the Phillies and The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Newspapers in Education Department at a unique and interactive workshop at Citizens Bank Park, created to inspire teachers and classrooms to “Step Up to the Plate” and give back to the community. The free event will be held on Wednesday, March 28, at 4:30 p.m. in the Diamond Club. Advance registration is required to attend at firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, March 19.
“We invite teachers to attend this free educational workshop, created in partnership with The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Newspapers in Education Department,” said Meghan Essman, Director, Fan Development and Educational Programs, The Phillies. “This event was designed to give educators the tools they need to encourage their students to make a difference in the community.”
Participants will receive a “Step Up to the Plate” supplement for classrooms, which engages students with educational and thought-provoking activities and information pertaining to the Phillies players and their own community outreach. Teachers will also learn how to utilize the free supplement in a creative and effective way in their classrooms.
Teachers are also invited to share their own lesson plans that utilize the Phillies and The Inquirer at the Teacher Workshop. To submit a lesson plan, please email email@example.com by March 19.
